Future 8th Graders

Dear future 8th graders,

Next year will be full of fun and laughter, but you have to work hard in ELA in order to achieve that. The 3 parts of the class where you will need to work hard is in AR, Wordly Wise, and Istation. In my opinion, these are the activities people give the least amount of effort to in 8th grade. According to Mrs. Hildebrand, we should read 20 minutes every day for homework and this is going to be helpful in meeting our AR goal. A common struggle in 8th grade is meeting AR deadlines of 25%,50%,75%, and 100% points. Not meeting these goals causes us to get a demerit and a low grade. Wordly Wise is another important assignment to complete. In section A, it is best to sentence all of the questions, or you lose 1/2 of your points. Also, it is best to study for all of your spelling tests at home, and not at school. Completing Wordly Wise will help you maintain good grades, and help you have a good understanding of other words. Istation homework is another assignment that should be completed with excellence. An entire week is given to complete short assignments, but 8th graders usually procrastinate and wait to complete it last minute. In total, the future 8th graders should work hard and not procrastinate in the assignments given.
